A New Chapter, Rooted in Gratitude
Before sharing my connection to Sigars.com, I want to honor Matt and Ian.
Their vision, creativity, and dedication built far more than a premium custom-cigar company. They created a brand grounded in craftsmanship, celebration, and the meaningful connections that unfold around a great cigar. I am deeply grateful for the foundation they created and for the care they poured into every detail of Sigars.com.
Why I Fell in Love With Sigars.com
My connection to this company is deeply personal.
In my spiritual practice, I have come to relate to tobacco with profound reverence—as a master plant, a spiritual teacher, and a symbol of grounding, reflection, and connection. To me, a premium cigar can be an intentional expression of that relationship: honoring the plant through craftsmanship, presence, ritual, and shared experience.
This connection also brings me home to my Dominican ancestry.
My grandfather (pictured right), who raised me, smoked cigars and made them by hand to sell around town. Those memories are woven into my sense of family, heritage, and belonging. The aroma of tobacco, the care that goes into crafting a cigar, and the moments of connection it brings still feel like home.
When I discovered Sigars.com, I found a reflection of values I already held: respect for tobacco crafted with integrity, appreciation for true craftsmanship, and belief in the power of meaningful moments shared with others. That sense of alignment is what drew me in.
What Remains the Same
This new chapter is not about transforming Sigars.com into a healing or wellness cigar business.
Sigars.com remains the premium custom-cigar company Matt and Ian built—serving brands, corporations, celebrations, and special events with exceptional cigars, thoughtful design, and personalized experiences.
My personal relationship with tobacco does not redefine what the company offers. It deepens my appreciation for the product, the people behind it, and the heritage it represents.
As Sigars.com moves forward, my intention is simple: to honor what Matt and Ian created, preserve the quality and service our customers value, and carry the company into its next chapter with gratitude, respect, and authenticity.

Matt, Co-founder
Sigars.com co-founder and former CEO Matt grew up in the suburbs of Albany, NY.
For Matt, cigars have always been about being with his dad Scott at the Saratoga Race Track. The smell of horses, popcorn, and a good cigar with some gambling have always felt like heaven to him.
Today, Matt is a proud husband and father who enjoys an evening smoke with his wife overlooking Tampa Bay. He even named his dog Stogie.
Ian, Co-founder
Sigars.com co-founder and CSO Ian grew up in the suburbs of Albany, NY.
Ian smoked his first stogie while fishing with his dad Dave at Lake George, NY. After about an hour fishing together, Ian headed to the car for some water, and when he came back, his dad was puffing on a cigar. Dave handed Ian the cigar and warned him not to inhale..and we all know how that story ends. Now that Ian is older, sharing a cigar with his dad is something he deeply treasures. It always sparks the best conversations and creates moments they’ll never forget.
When not working, you can find Ian spearfishing off the Gulf Coast or rollerblading along the St. Pete pier. Look closely and you may be able to spot the Maine Coon in his backpack.
